Daniel in Copenhagen

 

This is the second book in the series about Daniel, following the same pattern as before, of scenes at school and at home alternating with adventures at night with Daniel’s wooden jigsaw puzzle friends. This time a school trip is planned to the theatre to see a play about Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish writer of fairy tales. The night time adventures involve Daniel in several of Hans Andersen’s fairy tales – he rescues the little Match Girl by putting her in touch with the Queen looking for a Real Princess for her son, and gets involved with some very dodgy tailors whose cloth seems pretty invisible, considering how much it costs…
