Daniel is a young boy who is fairly nervous about most things; he is a clever child, quick-thinking, and friendly. His best friend Charlotte is not scared of anything; she is bold.
At nights Daniel goes on adventures with the three wooden jigsaws in his bedroom. Sleepy the Lion is nervous like Daniel and prefers to avoid trouble. Curly the Caterpillar thinks he looks just great. There is also a motor bike, which Daniel rides at night.

At school a Monster is spotted entering the classroom overnight – which could, Daniel feels, turn out to be scary… But not with Charlotte around.

This is a book of 4,500 words to be read aloud to Infant School children, or read alone by Juniors. It should appeal to children under ten, especially those who are nervous about life.
